Yes, I've done so a lot when using lounge on arrival to eat and work. Usually my bag was then already taken to the lost and found (though usually they hadn't entered it in the system yet) and I could just walk up to them, tell them the baggage number and which bag it is and then leave with it.
However, the lost and found is in the baggage claim area, before you pass customs, I'm not exactly sure how to get there without going airside and then leaving through the baggage claim area again.
Thanks, Nick. I guess going airside could be solved by buying a cheap FR ticket and heading directly down to baggage claim (and I guess letting FR know that the flight will not be taken).
Do you need to show ID for getting the bag or could you let somebody else arriving a few hours later that day pick it up if they have the bag number?
