If anything, at least both of them now accept overseas UnionPay cards, so that's a start.
So how did it go?
I'll be transiting 12h in Shanghai in April. I have a WeChat and Line accounts (been using these for quite some years now but only for chatting with my friends in Asia). I have just linked my Wise "credit" card to WeChat. So all I need to do is have the vendor flash my barcode/QR code to get paid?
I want to avoid having to get cash just for this half day transit...
