Well 15-25 years ago I was a very frequent CX flyer - Diamond for 7 years. Last week I flew CX for the first time in 10 years and the first time in economy for 15 years. I was fearing the worst.
But actually, I found that the service was very much in line with how I remember it from years gone by: cabin crew were pleasant and efficient, the food was edible, G&T is still G&T. The cabin was clean. The seat was still horribly small for me, but that's my fault for being big even by gweilo standards. I would prefer to be up front, but the price difference was just too much for a 5 hour flight, so I paid for a legroom seat.
This was on an A350 HKG-MAA-HKG.
