I'm doing 4 nights of first time sightseeing in Beijing in late Feb. I read the last 5ish pages and I see two conflicting things. It seems most people like the Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing the most for quality of hotel but the consensus is that it is not well positioned for sightseeing. Is that accurate? I'm going to be doing the typical tourist stuff (Great Wall, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, etc.) but I want to stay at a nice place (Titanium if that means anything). Is there a better option for someone that wants a luxury hotel with decent walkability and/or public transit options? Normally I look at street view to gauge the vibes of a hotel but China being China... that's not happening.
