Regarding points value, It obviously depends on when you go. If you go in peak April, nightly rates are $700-800 with tax a 5 night stay can exceed $4,000. In that case, 400,000 points , if you use the "100% bonus purchase point example" could be had for $2,000, It seems even at the devaluation it's still a better reward vs cash property. Obviously 80K/night or 320K/5-nights has historically been a killer deal, but it kind of seems like it was good while it lasted. Just my 2 cents.
