Via PM on X I enquired about changing a return AMS-PHL flight to go on BA instead ams-lhr-lgw-tpa. I checked to see if CE and CW were available via award tickets and they were indeed. AA then said "yes both legs are upgradeable and the add collect would be $183". I said are you sure that's to CE and CW and they said no it's to PE. I then said "I need CW so please reprice change into PE so you can upgrade into CW". They then told me they can't because CW isn't available. Ugh. Anyone heard this?

I will call exp line later instead to see what they say.
