I haven’t gotten a massage there in maybe 10 years? It’s not for lack of trying. But I rarely spend more than 30-45 minutes in the lounge, if that, and it’s always booked when I ask (which I do somewhat regularly for sport, last time was in November, I could’ve gotten a slot 75 minutes later but I would be long gone by then). I’ve always found it a little bit annoying there is this service that exists which would be nice but is practically impossible for me to ever use, it’s something I long ago chalked up to a gimmick, and a resignation of “well I’ll just never be able to use that service”.
clearly there are enough people using the lounge for many hours that there’s really just no way to use it on a very short visit unless you get lucky.
I imagine I’m not alone in this forum with a travel profile of traveler in the CX lounges at least once a week, on average. But they’re short visits usually. It’s an interesting question does CX want to further increase the utility to the likes of us HK-based DM profiles, or keep it more as a lure item for the blogs and the OW crowd who seem to spend lengthier time in the lounge as less frequent visitor / bucket list type experience. Maybe there’s a way for CX to satisfy both parties (I believe they’d still get credit from the blogs and partners as long as it’s there, just thinking out loud, but maybe harder for them to take all the advance slots hours out? Right now the ability to book just seems so unbalanced, rigged against anyone who uses the lounge for not very long stays.)
I can’t be the only DM in here who rarely/never can use this famous CX service? I just assumed CX never cared about making the service useful to us types. Would be a welcome change.
I have never used it, I asked a few times when Pier reopened and wait time's never less than 60 minutes, I remember one time it's more than two hours... after that, I just give up and treat it as nonexistent haha.
