I actually reached out to my MHC to get an explanation of why this was allowed and confirm the validity of what I was reading online. She then pointed me back to the T&Cs which I'm fairly confident changed in the January 9th update. I have had hotels honor prior T&Cs before when the change happened after booking (ignoring the fact that Hyatt has allowed this to happen for the last 4 years). Without a callout in the T&Cs, what the Centric was doing violated the rules and the brand standard. Simply acquiescing will only lead to more hotels pulling shenanigans like this.
