AU & NZ is single aviation market.
QF did and now JQ operate domestically in NZ
Virgin Australia Airlines (NZ) Limited did operate domestic flights in NZ. The initial 2007 routes were AucklandWellington, Christchurch–Wellington and Auckland–Christchurch. Later Christchurch to Dunedin flights started.
AirNZ, with its 100% owned subsidary Ansett, did operate in AU. And Ansett did operate domestically in NZ for a short time
Nothing to stop Air NZ operating AU domestic flights now. Just need aircraft, landing slots and AU (union) crew. But Air NZ do not like competition.
