Yes, that is correct. Everything came out on one tray just after the drinks/nuts service. This flight departed at 11:20 PM and I think they wanted to progress the service so that people could sleep. I don't fly SYD/BNE enough to call myself a regular on the route, but I have seen it before.
All D1 flights that I’ve been on since Covid, departing at all times of the day, have been the exact same. Starter and mains on the same tray after the nuts or amuse Bouche service. Never seen an attempt at a true coursed delivery. Granted on some flights it’s appreciated due to the hour or length, but I’m afraid it’s become the new norm and unofficial service standard. Also, never been able to successfully order a Port with dessert despite it always being listed on the menu. I’ve been met with comments ranging from it just wasn’t loaded, they don’t have it on this route, all the way up to they’ve never had it and I must be confusing DL with another airline.
