I did 2 turnarounds recently and had 2 different outcomes in regards to obtaining boarding passes.
For ICN-HKG-SYD, I could check in online but had to get my boarding passes printed at The Wing.
For ICN-HKG-BKK, I received mobile boarding passes after online check in.
So I think it depends on your final destination whether you need to get your boarding passes printed.
