Hi All,

I'm a newbie on this forum and flying on JAL for the first time. I'm flying in J from JFK-HND-KUL-HND-JFK (fare class is "I") and was hoping to upgrade to F in order to try out the new A351 seat on the JFK-HND/HND-JFK segments; the HND-KUL segments are operated by MH. I purchased my ticket through AMEX, and it's on JAL ticket stock.

1) Is it possible to upgrade from J to F using miles on just JFK-HND/HND-JFK ? If so, how many miles are required?

2) If it's possible to upgrade to F with miles, how do I look for space? (I made a JAL MB account, and it seems that when I select the "upgradeable" feature on the JAL website, it only gives upgrade inventory to J.) So, I'm not sure how else to check for upgrade inventory to F online.

3) Does inventory for upgrades to F, if it's even possible, pull from a certain fare bucket that I can find on ExpertFlyer? If so, what fare class needs to be available?
