On SIN-CDG tonight. Was originally booked DPS-SIN-AMS on KL but got rebooked via AF just this morning. Full J inventory booking and Platinum.

Although I was confirmed in J, had no seat assignment since just changed to the flight this morning. Therefore could not see the LP offers in the app as I was waitlisted for a seat assignment.

EF showed F1 P1 and J0. I called PSL and asked about both my J seat assignment and quote for LP upgrade. They said J was overbooked and they could not see a LP upgrade availability.

Ive flown LP several times so before departing DPS-SIN (same ticket on GA), I emailed LP concierge and asked about the upgrade.

When I landed in SIN, I checked EF and saw inventory had changed to F0 P0. I figured I missed my chance. I was still very nervous about my J seat assignment well.

After checking EF, I checked my email and had a reply from the LP concierge that they had tried to call me (while I was in the air) and that indeed there was 1 LP seat (window!!!!!!) available! I hoped that the F0 P0 was maybe because they had held it for me? The email asked me to call them as soon as I could.

I called the number in the email (French number) and they got me through to the agent who emailed me. She confirmed that indeed she was holding the last seat for me if I wanted it! Price was EUR 1699. Considering 5 hours in SIN (Qantas First Lounge), 14 hours in LP, and 7.5 hours in CDG LP Lounge for my connection, I went for it. She took my credit card over the phone. She said to go to check in to get my boarding pass and meet my escort. I told her I was already in the terminal and would prefer to try to go to the AF transfer desk in C area. She advised she would call SIN LP team and ask what I should do. As I was walking, she called 3 mins later and said they wanted me to go to Qantas First lounge and a LP manager would meet me there. Sure enough, we walked in at exact same time.

Anyhoo…great experience so far. Headed from lounge to plane now. Will post pics when I arrive CDG tomorrow morning!
