The only quirk was: on a lark, I tried using it in Vietnam and it did not connect, but since the list of countries hadn't included it, I thought nothing of it. Upon arrival in Thailand however, it still didn't seem to want to connect. I had to go into the settings and change the APN from "Singtel (PostPaid)" to "Singtel (PrePaid)" and then it worked. Now I wonder if I could've gotten it to work in Vietnam after all

For this year's SIN DO I bought the $12 version (4G vs 5G), activated and used successfully in Singapore, but was unable to use it in Penang or Phuket even after futzing with the APNs (it was already set to PrePaid). Another FTer I know had a similar experience shortly after mine (usable in SG, but could not roam)
Also, although I was able to complete activation/registration using the hi! app, I was never able to login (I had thought to track data usage out of curiosity) -- the phone number showing in my Android phone settings didn't seem to be able to receive texts. On Googling around, I found some discussions on reddit etc. suggesting that the defaut condition if you register/activate via the app is that it only works for data, no voice/text, but if you go to an actual Singtel location they can enable it, but said FTer tried this and was unable (I forget why, will let him comment if he feels like it

)
In the end I guess I won't complain too hard about S$12 for essentially unlimited data (100GB over 14 days) that doesn't require a trip to a booth upon landing, but the failure to deliver promised roaming capability seems poor.
