This simply is not true. UA has not gone to one way domestic pricing across the board, and I’m a bit perplexed why people keep repeating this as though it were fact. They use one-way pricing in a lot of domestic markets, but not nearly all of them — not by a long shot.

Here’s just one example. AUS-DTW, October 7-14. As a round-trip, eschewing a direct flight that would save one PFC, the lowest available round-trip ticket prices at $498.36 using TFA5AFDN In both directions. Priced as one-ways, the exact same flights are $286.18 in each direction using SAA5AFDN, for a total of $572.36. The T fare is not filed for one-way travel on those dates.
