What on earth is going on here? Some kind of group delusion? A boarding pass is not required and has never been required. For decades they have only wanted to see some sort of evidence of booking.
From the checkin mail LH sent me last week:
Passengers departing from India require a boarding pass with a barcode to enter the terminal building. Please use our online check-in to obtain your digital boarding pass with barcode.
in BLR, you scan the BP during the doc check that happens before entering the terminal
