View from the Wing article referenced says,
...drinks available on request...Flights 250 to 1,500 miles
Which means Main Cabin on BOS/LGA/DFW-ORD will not get drink carts out on an aisle.

Observations on SFO-LAX (337 miles) flights I took last year.

AA Mainline (737-800):
No drink service in Main Cabin. No announcement about on request service. When I went to use the lav at the back FAs were sitting on jump seats looking at the handheld device. The galley looked like nothing was open.

EAAgle (Skywest flight):
Full beverage service in Main Cabin, a cart out on an aisle. Main Cabin Extra got free alcohol.

AS (Alaska Air):
Main Cabin got prepackaged cup of water or juice.

WN (Southwest):
Full beverage service.
