I luckily have also never missed one. Have had a few close shaves, but always made it in the end.
On the NEC I would imagine they would try to reaccommodate you at the station.
On the LDs hard to say.
Also, not sure if you miss it at a station like Aberdeen, MD or Mystic, CT where I don't think you'd find any staff to talk to.
