IIRC on all my stay, the hotel will take the deposit equal to the room charge plus their deposit amount which is usually 1-2 nights rate (depends on the stay length) or certain fixed value per night.
Or, if you plan not to charge anything to the room, they will just charge the card with full amount of room charge.
