My concern too. I booked QR flights last year for this summer with DUB-DOH-JNB out and MUB-JNB-DOH-DUB return, all in J. Under the old system, that's exactly 600 TPs, getting me to Silver. Under the new system, based on miles and fare class, it barely gets me past Bronze (a level I have anyway from Lifetime Gold with AA).

I would have been unhappy with BA, but relatively unaffected in the short term, if they had introduced this system to take effect from April 2026. I'm furious with them for making it take effect from April 2025 and, if the above scenario is true, would not have booked OW for our trip.
