I had posted last year in this thread that Hertz had sent me an email stating I would lose over 100,000 Hertz points from the 5 year expiration rule

I made three 2 week reservations for family members that needed a rental, and that used up some points, My plan was to make a bunch of additional point reservations and then cancel them after the new year.

However, on November 5th, I received an updated email from Hertz stating I would lose 2,800 Hertz points on March 31st from the 5 year expiration rule, so I figured I didn't need to make the point reservations to then cancel them.

Then on December 22nd Hertz subtracted 70,853 points from my account as expired, which I just saw yesterday. I sent them an email last night with a screenshot of their email last showing that Hertz stated I would only be losing 2,800 points if I didn't use them by March 31st. They responded today re-instating all of my 70,853 lost points, so less than 24 hours for them to correct this.

They re-instated them in batches of 3,000 points each, so 24 batches total, all with today's date. So I wonder if that means they are all good for 5 years again.

Points are not easy for me to use. If I use them for a family member, I have to go to the airport with them to pick up the vehicle. My company only reimburses actual charged expenses, so if I use points for a business trip, basically only the company and client makes out. And between trips, my company will get me a rental car to get home from the airport and then back to the airport, as it is cheaper than roundtrip airport transportation, so I often already have a rental car sitting the driveway I don't use. But this time I will somehow find a way to use them and not let them accumulate.
