notquiteaff made a valid point here. It's not that we haven't seen the message from AS. It's that we don't quite trust them to achieve the milestone. Those of us who have included award EQM in our 2025 status strategy are worried we'll be left in the cold come the end of the year.
Earning EQM on award travel is not a milestone. It is a NEW benefit for Members of Mileage Plan; not Elite Status dependent. This is the first year and AS has indicated that it will be in the spring before they can start posting award EQM. I anticipate it should be automatic thereafter. Who "is" we? Are you saying you fear AS will renege on that benefit?

Award travelMembers will receive 1 elite-qualifying mile for every mile flown on tickets booked with Mileage PlanŽ Miles, including segments operated by Alaska partners. Elite-qualifying miles are nonredeemable and cannot be used toward award travel.
One thing we don't know is if the 500 EQM minimum will apply to award segments < 500 miles. I suspect not since there is no reference to earning more than 1 EQM for each mile flown.
