I had a 2-4-1 companion voucher reward flight to Singapore booked and I needed to change the name of my companion as they could no longer come. I rang BA yesterday who advised the only way this could be done was to cancel the flight and rebook it, which I was happy to do as there was no mention that the flight would not be available. After the chap on the phone cancelled it, he went to rebook it and found that they weren't back in the inventory and I was told they can take up to an hour to appear, and after speaking to a colleague told me that there was no guarantee that this would happen. I am obviously incredibly angry, as I was not told this prior to cancelling, and had I known this wouldn't have cancelled and just bought an economy flight for my partner so they could fly. I currently have hotels booked and can see that there are J flights available on those two flights. Is there anything I, or BA, can do to remedy this, or do I just need to accept some incredibly bad customer support?

Thanks for any advice.
Oh Honey - you never ever let anything go until you are assured that there is a replacement. I have read here that cancelling reward seats does not mean that they automatically come up again. I do so hope that it does for you. Fingers crossed.
