So in scrambled to get in a last BAH double points trip to keep my status for another year, before we are all screwed over forever!!

The cheapest was 5 nights in Bucharest. So I just booked it! With the double BAH TP's it gets me what I need before April 1st.

Now I am not exactly thrilled by the prospect of spending 5 nights in Bucharest... I will be bored. So does anyone have any ides of a do-able day trip from there? I was thinking Sofia, as it doesn’t seem so far away. But the train looks like it takes HOURS... and HOURS!! They must crawl along slower than the District Line.

So does anyone have any suggestions of somewhere, 2 hrs tops, by train or air to spend a day to break up the trip?
