Pros:
  • Upgraded to a Deluxe with Sofa Bed - there was a balcony Deluxe available online, but I wouldn’t have used a balcony so wasn’t upset at not getting this - nothing else higher, and my room type was the same price as the Balcony room type
  • Bed was really comfortable - plush mattress, covers of good weight while not being too heavy, super plush pillows, furry blanket to add weight to my feet
  • Shower pressure from the rainfall head was good, in my opinion
  • Sofa was comfortable
  • Free coffee and tea (and maybe beer and wine) in lobby lounge from 7 AM to 9 PM
  • I really liked the hilarious Texas Roadhouse breakfast - I found the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with tater tots to be really tasty
  • 4 PM late checkout offered proactively
  • Washlet had fantastic pressure

Neutral:
  • I am sure some will balk at the check-in and check-out machines - but an agent came up and verified my late checkout without me having to go ask - I did have to go up and ask for a printed bill

Cons:
  • Exterior noise isolation isn’t the best
  • Room is a bit small

I would come back.

The hard product of the hotel isn't terrible but just overpriced in my opinion considering the lack of space and service. I think it should be priced ~20% lower given the competition in Taipei. The balcony was actually the one part that I really liked about the hotel. It was nice to have the open area, but as a result of the room layout, you end up with the sunken bathtub and a small sink next to the bathtub. If I remember correctly, there's actually not a sink in the bathroom so you only have one sink which is on the opposite end of the room. It's a very inconvenient layout and I would've preferred the bathroom setup in the room that you had, especially for longer stays.
