I know I get a free checked bag on paid Alaska flights when I use my Alaska Visa card to pay for the flight.

When flying on an Alaska award flight (booked with Alaska points on Alaska metal), do I get a free checked bag if I pay the award flight fees using my Alaska Visa card?

If yes, is that still true if I book the award flight for someone else (in this case, passenger is a family member)?
