Another thing happened at the breakfast buffet today that irritated me. Toddler wanted to take his strawberry milk to the room in a takeaway cup and the server refused saying they had a no takeaway policy. Another sever over heard and “secretly” gave me a takeaway cup, and told me not to say where I got it. The whole thing seemed a silly charade.
The thing is, if the service was actually was actually good, I would go out of my way to return even on a cash rate. All of the “policies” make the place feel cold / not welcoming.
That is really cold to refuse a child but actually have the takeout stuff in the back. The service seems toxic from your description of the way things are playing out.

This gym doesn't have water bottles surprisingly. They have a water cooler and small paper cups. The HR BKK has glass bottles in the gym. Andaz should have the same. I feel HR goes the extra mile for guests toiletries in gym too while Andaz is about as cheap as possible except for 2 things - they have liberal amounts of free suntan lotion and give drinks at poolside for free quite often. These two things are very nice
I wouldn't stay here because I don't want to bring my giant Trenta tumbler on vacation. My Hyatt profile actually has 8 bottles of water ("extra") as a preference and the best properties fulfil that wish. GH Jeju gave 8 each day plus ones for the turndown beside. I bring my own personal preference sunscreen and would gladly pay for drinks at the pool. Just load me up with free room water! I'm really not hard to please but this place seems to take the cake.
Andaz's brand motto was that the hotel is supposed to be like your own home. This sounds like nothing like that.
