The US Department of Transportation this week fined Turkish $1.3 million for two separate violations: Delays in providing refunds when flights were canceled or had significant schedule changes. Arbitrarily withholding compensation (in violation of US law and international treaty) when bags are delayed.
Consent order.
Write-up on my site, remarking on a diligent passenger whose
complaint prompted the second part of DOT's investigation.
Some passengers on this discussion forum may be entitled to refunds. If Turkish refused to reimburse the full amount of your documented expense due to baggage loss or delay, you should re-complain to Turkish. Though forcefully worded, Turkish's prior denials were both wrong and unlawful.
