My thinking out of these posts, if Alaska is listening, is to maintaining the current mileage traveled earn system BUT creating a new highest tier, with undefined spend, invitation only revenue tier. This way, people who actually spend high $ are given the highest upgrade priority with opportunity for posh benefits, eg… Porsche transfers, drop off at lounges, etc.

(I believe Alaska is thinking along this idea to compete with Delta 360. )
