I saw a post by a TA on a reddit thread that said Aman Bangkok will likely have rates similar to Aman Tokyo and I was surprised because Tokyo is a much more expensive city compared to BKK so I couldn't understand how that would work. I am also wondering if Aman might want to be the "most expensive" hotel around and charge rates well over $1000++ so doubt it will be anything below that unfortunately but we will see when they announce it eventually.
I like the Capella BKK, but I was paying no where near $1000 USD per night (which only started recently after they're named the "best hotel in the world"

) for any of my stays. I haven't stayed since the price went up significantly.
In fact, Bangkok is a lot less attractive now as a travel destination and I've been spending a majority of my time in Japan and Hong Kong. Seems Thailand wants to charge the high rates but doesn't want to put in the effort to fix its infrastructure.
