and yes, I will check to see if PE opens on my flight- right now the cash price is $400 in economy- which seems like a good deal, but there are no avios options in any class of service on my particular flight from JFK to MAD (July 7th at 16:45) but there is on the MAD to LIS - but obviously PE doesn't mean anything on that flight and my wife and daughter have the two business class (European business class) avios tickets.
I could change to the later flight, but I would only have 1.5 hour layover in Madrid, which is possilbe, but I don't want to risk seperating my wife and I in Europe in the case of IROPS.
Looks like for July the earlier service has PE/A333 on Tue Thu Fri and the later service it's Tue Wed Sun. Monday and Saturday no PE.
400 cash for econ but you need to add the price of the front row seat, assuming you don't need baggage yourself as your +2 can check take the bags.so 450 cash minus some tiny avios earning Vs 8/20K avios + a some cash (50?)...so essentially buying avios (by canx the redemption) for 0.02 though you don't have to deal with the reimbursement. Both ok.
