My experience has not been the same. Was denied entry at the garden lounge on an Economy to Business Avios Upgrade ticket (in app - prior to departure). I was told upgrade tickets are not entitled to business class lounges. However, if you are platinum, you could use Al Safwa regardless of how you got the business boarding card (true as of Dec '24).
