Well, my long game is to get a gold amex so I can switch from Avios to FB points if the time comes.... only been gold for 5 months after 10 years silver but no way my spend will get me anywhere in the new system so FB/skyteam seems the way forward, especially with a French wife and cousins in the south west and Provence who we visit quite a bit ....
