It is possible to visit Nihon Sankei (日本三景). Nihon Sankei is Miyajima, Aamano Hashidate, and Matsushima.

Amano Hashidate:
It is possible to do a day trip from Kyoto.

Matsushima:
Can do a day trip to Matsushima from Tokyo

Shinkansen from Tokyo to Sendai. Recommended to depart from Tokyo by 7:00 a.m. to maximize the time at Matsushima.
Transfer to JR Senseki Line at Sendai. To Matsushima Kaigan station.
