Depending on time of day, 100 will be faster if you do Marine Drive Station to 22nd Street Station, especially if one's aim is to get to somewhere like uptown NW. But yes, SkyTrain typically wins out.
So... you ever out in New West much?
I go to Vancouver a few times a year, usually stay in downtown or Fairmont YVR. I often take busses for fun and do some long walks so I can end up in all parts of Vancouver, including New West.
I also take ferries for fun, even in winter. Though I regretted last time as it was right after a storm and it's literally impossible to walk on the deck.
