Its all about your risk threshold,

With checked bags, and the risk of having to collect and re check, 90 minutes would be well below my risk threshold.

If you book a ba ticket with fcod, then book a later flight andnif all goes will, up to one hour bevore departure of the earlier flight, you can same day chang, subject to space being available in your cabin
