I will be flying AUS-DFW-FRA-HEL on an award ticket, with a separate award ticket taking me onward from HEL-BKK several hours later. The first two segments are on AA metal, while the last two legs of the journey are on AY.

Will baggage be checked through to BKK upon check in at AUS, or will we need to retrieve bags in FRA and/or HEL and recheck them during the trip?
