That is incorrect! MM status within each Elite Tier will always be upgraded before any other Elite in that Tier. If there is one 100K MM on the flight, they will be #1 on the upgrade waitlist. If there are two or more, the 100K MMs will be ordered on the cumulative EQM from the prior year + the current year.
Starting later in 2025, we’ll prioritize upgrades based on your recent activity and long-term loyalty—
not what you paid for your ticket.
Once on the waitlist, upgrades will be processed in the following order:
- Elite status level
- Million Miler milestone
- Corporate travelers*
- Elite-qualifying miles (EQMs) earned in 2024 and 2025
- Date and time of booking
