As you might have seen in other threads in this forum several other posters have encountered issues when trying to check-in luggage for TK flights when on UA award tickets. I suggest you read the first hand reports of other posters in this forum to get more familiar with the issues that you may face. To check-in 3 bags of 32 kilo each pax can turn out to be one hell of expensive bill....
SK AAR, that was my first step in answering my own question. UA quotes that TK luggage allowances are determined by TK (of course) and that questions concerning luggage allowances need to be addressed to TK.
That said, the Turkish Airlines website indicates that for a business class itinerary the free allowance is what I stated in my original post. My question is if Star Alliance Gold members receive additional free luggage allowance.
I noted on the luggage calculator on the THY website that M&S members holding status equivalent to Star Alliance Gold are entitled to either additional weight or piece allowance.
Actually, UA is of no real help in this issue.
