My other half and I are going to Australia for two weeks. We have already been to SYD, but this time we are staying 5 nights in Cairns or Port Douglas.

We notice through some of the discount sites that we can get 4 and 5 star resorts for the same price as the gay resort Turtle Cove or even cheaper. We also notice that the website for Turtle Cove shows very little of the facilities, just lots of pictures of people. In fact, some of the pictures are taken from such a distance that you really can not make out anything.


We are very comfortable staying at regular places but also like to patronize gay establishments. Is this a case where they are charging you a premium for staying gay, or is it really so nice in comparison? We plan on doing a lot of day trips, so we won't necessarily be spending a lot of time at the hotel.

We would appreciate any comments from anyone who has stayed at Turtle Cove or Cairns or Port Douglas. Thanks.
