It's true. I didn't mean to suggest that the A/P disconnect happens on G/S capture, but rather that, from my spot, AF bus drivers tend to disconnect it after getting configured. That's not saying nobody hand flies an approach from top of descent on down, using the ILS for guidance. Of course, nothing but common sense is stopping anyone from doing a full autoland in CAVOK and going for the Singapore swerve on rollout. So, fancy autoland, AF will have you turn your phones off and disconnect Otto on the rollout; otherwise, if you hear the A/P disconnect sound, you should be in the air.
