Our family has stayed at the Seafire maybe six times, including most recently, November 2024. We also stayed at Hotel Indigo over Thanksgiving. If you are doing a points booking, my recommendation for just about anyone, would be to stay at the Kimpton Seafire. It's proximity to the beach is far superior. While it's an easy walk to the beach from Hotel Indigo, there's just a peace and joy of seeing the ocean clearly from your room or being in close proximity to it at the pool. There's so much more to do and included in your resort fee at the Seafire. The facilities, including the pool, are much larger at the Seafire (about 4x as big).

Who I think Hotel Indigo is good for:
  • Those paying cash and looking to save some money while still having a lovely experience
  • Those with very limited mobility, who may want a very small hotel footprint. This becomes problematic though if interested in the beach, as the proximity is much further
  • Those with elite status whose number one priority is room upgrade. My guess is that you would have better chance at a room upgrade at Indigo than Seafire, given its lower occupancy. During our Thanksgiving stay, Indigo had a rather low occupancy. So low that they weren't offering the restaurant breakfast buffet- menu only. At the Seafire they were completely full.
  • Couples who really prefer not to engage with children. While there are certainly children at Indigo, there are far, far more children at the Seafire. The pool area at Indigo feels more adult and more sedate than the lively family atmosphere at the Seafire.

The Hotel Indigo is beautiful. Food and beverage was very good. Service overall was good, in part because many team members came over from the Seafire, so it seems there was far less ramp up time. Our suite was lovely and beautifully decorated, though the bathroom was small compared to those at the Seafire. Even though we had a large corner balcony, it was small/narrow compared to the spacious balconies at the Seafire. The rooftop bar had exceptional food and beverage and shouldn't be missed. I'd make reservations to be sure to get the perfect table, maybe prioritizing the covered area at sunset. you'll also receive loyalty points for your f&b spend charged to the room at Hotel Indigo- whereas you do not at the Kimpton Seafire. I provided some feedback at checkout and management actually followed up with me- so great service recovery and management team. There is a lot of good to be said for the Hotel Indigo, however, it's just competing with a far superior product just next door.

For our family with kids aged 15 and 11, we were bored at the Hotel Indigo and didn't find any value in the resort fee, as compared to the Seafire. In fact, during our four night stay at Hotel Indigo, we left for one night and stayed at the Seafire, and loved every minute of it. I hate reporting that, but wanted to be honest about the experience.

The good news is that there are even more food and beverage options available in the area with the Hotel Indigo being open.
