I think you're probably right. The last two Bermuda flights I had in F I was denied my food choice as two other pax in the half-full cabin were GGLs. I couldn't remember that happening to me as a Gold before in F, although I have had a SNAFU on the menu JFK-LHR where I suspect my reserved dine-on-demand for later was consumed by someone else, or a peckish pilot ;-)
