While a BA tier point run is dead, there is starting to be discussion on using a BA tier point run to credit to another Oneworld airline to gain OWS or OWE. Some others would be MH, QR, AT, or RJ. Airlines that you may be able to obtain status without having to fly on, can buy status enhancements, later obtain lifetime status. More research needs to be done.
