Scan of what? License plate or QR code?

I've had nothing but trouble with the license plate scanning/recognition.
Last time I forgot to print out the QR code and it was an 'experience' for both driving in and leaving. Needed to press the talk button both times, and they had some difficulties retrieving my booking. Fun!
