What makes those stopovers horrible?
You land, you're asked to deplane, you are then guided to the next gate (where you have to go through gate security which is rescanning your bag, taking your laptop out, jackets/belts/etc off). You then sit at the airport gate area for 40 or so mins waiting to get on board. You then get back on board to your exact seat you had from the 1st leg. It's more annoying than horrible tbf.
There's no time to go to a lounge they tell you to go straight to the other gate. Also when we boarded again (secuirty checks your boarding pass + passport when boarding begins), no one from Turkish airline was there at the door for business, so we kind of just walked on board hesitantly and started going to our seats (ground staff told us to board from the gate) - one of the cabin crew then came running to the front asking to see our passes but didn't actually check it. It was just weirdly disorganised. Mind you, the crew for the 2nd leg is different to the 1st leg.
