There are so many things unique to Argentina that make it worth visiting regardless of exchange rates but this time we have felt the pricing is that little bit higher and for some reason, service feels down a bit in the hotels and restaurants. Food is still very good and people are friendly as always, but every restaurant now points out the suggested tip (normally 10%) and reminds you it has to be paid in cash. We always tip when dining out but are exhausted with the tipping culture in N.A. and hope it doesn’t get to that point here.
That being said, we are still planning our next visit to Argentina early next year and look forward to seeing how things are then.
Restaurant meals are definitely 2x what they were last year, and not always good value. Some sort of breakfast is usually included in our accommodation, and we find ourselves limiting ourselves to either a decent lunch or decent dinner (how tragic

). We are eating fewer steaks and more pizza and milenesas. Our empanada consumption is up -- often as a light lunch, Instead of just heading to the best restaurant in town, we're doing some research, and trying to get current menus.
