Yes, but does that revision help the OP should that happen? As I understand it, OP has a BA ticket ORD-LHR and an AA tkt MSN-ORD to get there If it were reversed, AA could offer to help on their airline connecting in from a OW carrier if BA were delayed, but can they "force" BA to help out if AA is delayed going to ORD?
Or can they, due to the joint venture agreement? (Never reallly understood all that...) Thanks for any clarification. (Not to confuse the original point - this protection question has nothing to do with checking bags through on separate PNRs.)
