Not to bring back a thread from 2023 - but have noticed a positive enhancement to the "Flexible Change" that AA is sending out.
I've got a DFW-PHL-BUF award flight routing for Friday morning. I opened the app today and saw AA was offering a flexible change opportunity for the flights. I was just curious and opened it up, and noticed that AA is offering flight credit if you change your flight:
$150 of flight credit isn't terrible for an advanced flight change - I'd probably take advantage of this in certain situations if I wanted to extend a trip or something.
Very welcome change, though I do wonder how often it will actually be offered. Every other flight I take, I get an offer for some exorbitant amount only to never actually be needed; aside from a 7 day stretch in which I netted over $2,000 in trip credits, I have yet to be needed in four years.
