I’ve seen a lot of posts implying that all the hotels in Mayakoba are under the same ownership. As a home owner at Mayakoba, I know for a fact that is not so. The original developer contracted to have the hotels operate independently on the mayakoba property with a reciprocal arrangement for usage of restaurants and spas. Fairmont and Banyan tree are owned by the Accor group, rosewood is part of a boutique hotel group and Andaz is owned by Hyatt. I would ask if Hyatt has made an arrangement to move and pay for their guests to go to one of the other Mayakoba hotels, but the odds are it would be more beneficial for them to move people to another of their own properties. I’m so sorry for those that have booked at Andaz Mayakoba this year as it really is a beautiful property.
